Looking to start setting up your site? This course will explain the basic details that you need to know publish and manage your site. Along the way, you’ll also see links to other courses with more information. So let’s get started.
When you set up your account, you first pick a template. A template is basically an entire, prebuilt site.
Each template is different; some have pages or features that others don’t. Before you pick a template, click Preview to see a demo site using that template.
Also try out a few templates. You can have up to 5 sites at once, so if you don’t like a template, build a new site and delete your old one.
To get these points, just add your own content and save. Here are a few examples:

Just by pasting in a link, you can add videos (for example, from YouTube or Vimeo) and even tweets from Twitter.
If you’re not sure if a link will embed properly, just try it out. (The full list of websites that you can embed from is over 1,600!)

Once you’ve made a change and saved, preview your site.
To preview your site:
Your visitors will move around your site through the navigation menu (like those at the top and bottom of this page). So here you’ll include links to your pages or even to other sites.

Note Some templates have one menu, some have a couple navigation menus (one at the top and one at the bottom of pages), and other templates don’t have a menu at all.
You can easily add links in your menu to other pages (which you’ll definitely want to do if you create a custom page).

You can also add links to other sites. For example, if you’re a restaurant, you might want to add a link to your Yelp page.

Change how your links are ordered by dragging them up or down.

To remove a link from your navigation menus:
If you don’t like the order of the sections on a page, then rearrange them with the Page Composer.
For example, you might want a section describing your skills to appear at the top of the page, but your template’s designer put it at the bottom.

You can also add simple custom pages. These pages can contain anything that you can stick in a textbox, which includes images, videos, music, social media posts, and more.

If you like the overall style of your theme but want change a color or font, use the Design section.
In the Design section you can choose between several preset styles, or customize the fonts and colors yourself. Once you select a style, you’ll see a preview of the site right there.

You can also change your fonts. Your site uses Google Fonts, so you have hundreds of fonts to choose from.
If you want use particular colors on your site, you can do that too. Click in the various Color boxes to pick new colors.
As part of your membership, you can create up to 5 sites. So if you want to start a blog or a create a website for your consulting side-business, then go ahead. You can also create new sites just to try out different templates.

Once you’ve added content and previewed your site, all that’s left is publishing. When you publish, you’ll be charged for your anything that you’ve bought.
